Tucson Social Society (TSS) presents its much-awaited Covento Nights –
Wonder of We (WOW) event on May 5th, 2012.
A unique evening of art, conversations, and celebration of Tucson’s multicultural character and intellectual diversity. WOW will showcase a number of live ar...tists and musicians.
The Wonder of We is a series of public installations around Tucson intended to put faces to the names of this place, with the intention to help us see that we all belong here. There has been violence in our town that must be healed, and controversy about cultural studies around town show the true beauty of who Tucson is. People can take their own photos and paste them on walls to join the project.
Another highlight of the event will be three TEDxTucson Salons.
These three salons (talks) will cover the areas of Art, Culture, and Design.
- Lewis Humphreys will provide a talk about the WOW art project.
- Luis Perales will speak on culture with a purpose to create a community culture response to the Latin Studies controversy.
-Adam Weinstein will give a talk about how the design of MSA interacts with the Menlo Park/Barrio Hollywood community.
Covento Nights is an event by TSS held at Mercado San Agustin with an aim to encourage community and economic development and provide cultural enrichment to the local population. It is an exclusive avenue to create awareness and appreciation for local businesses, artists, and musicians.
